The week of homecoming is always an exciting week to think about, but getting ready for the big day can be a long process.
Homecoming is a big week for all grades, especially the day of the actual dance. For some the process during the day is extremely stressful and for others it’s easy and feels like you’re getting ready for a normal day.
Emily Krogulec, Senior said, “The process was definitely stressful because I wanted everything perfect since it’s the last ever homecoming as a highschool student. But it was fun getting ready with my friends.”
The day of the dance is the hardest day to get ready during the week of homecoming. You want to make sure everything is perfect and make sure the day is just right. You want to make sure you make the best memories and do everything you can to make the day fun but make sure you plan everything out properly.
Before the dance Jacob Bartolomeo, Junior felt what he needed to prepare for all the chaos that goes on. Bartolomeo said, “I needed to prepare for the pushing, there was a lot of pushing and stepping on toes not saying that’s bad it kind of gave it like a concert feeling like that pushing and shoving which I personally don’t mind I just didn’t expect it and I know a lot of people didn’t like it.”
The dances can definitely get crowded and some people don’t enjoy it but in a way it brings the students closer. They all dance and enjoy the company of each other when they are huddled in a circle dancing the night away to their favorite songs. You can definitely get hurt in the center but the dance is definitely one of the nights the Shorians look forward to each year.
