A new teacher has entered Lake Shore High School. Jessica Lesniak-Adams is now a teacher here, taking over Phil Cerrasco’s spot while Cerrasco moved to a special education position. She previously taught for a long time, exactly 10 years, at Ferndale High School. She teaches freshman ELA classes now. After teaching for 10 years and taking a 10-year break she is back on the scene and ready.
She also has a son who is currently a Freshman in her class. She has lived in St.Clair Shore her whole life and sent her kids to Lake Shore public schools, and this is her first time teaching here.
She says, “It feels great. Everyone has been friendly. The kids are well-behaved, and everyone is helpful and kind.”
Lesniak-Adams has found this to be an amazing position being met with cooperative students who are giving her a great Lake Shore experience. She is a very committed teacher who is very positive and finds the good in the students. Her mindset has been reciprocated by the students themselves finding her to be a wonderful teacher.
Jameson Adams, a student in her class and her son states, “I know she would be a great teacher. That’s why I encouraged her to return to teaching and teach here and me.”
Adams was the original promoter of his mother’s return to teaching when the position opened. He adores his mother and is thrilled that she is now his teacher. His confidence in her ability to teach her classes is what brought her back early, even when she was waiting.
Lesniak-Adams said, “The school seems great and the staff seems really invested. They seem to enjoy their jobs and the kids seem to be typical teenagers which is always fun.”
Lesniak-Adams extended the same sentiment she shared with the students to the staff. She enjoys the students’ presence, believes they are fun, and is looking forward to teaching.
Jameson Adams, also said, “She can capture student’s attention and knows how to teach well. She will help with individual help if they need it. She will even help individually, if not asked because she wants every student to pass, and she really cares about this.”
Jameson describes his mom as a wonderful teacher who is invested in her students. She is an educator who won’t leave a student behind. If she sees someone struggling, she will make sure to lift them up so they can pass and understand the material.
To conclude, Lesniak-Adams is a great new addition to Lake Shore, and the school is lucky to have her back and teaching. We believe she will fit in perfectly here at Lake Shore.
