Super Bowl LIX, February 9th, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, featured the rematch of Super Bowl 57 with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
The buildup to Super Bowl LIX was filled with excitement and high expectations. Philadelphia entered the game with a formidable roster, including star wide receiver A.J. Brown and a dynamic defense. Kansas City, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, aimed to continue their championship dominance.
The Chiefs tried to secure a crazy back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl win streak but fell short to the Eagles. The Eagles absolutely smothered them, making Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs look terrible.
In my opinion, Super Bowl LIX has to be one of the most boring to worst Super Bowl games I’ve ever watched. On top of that, I’ve never seen a team like that just get blown out, but I think many people are happy the Chiefs lost.
I think overall that this Super Bowl was probably one of the worst and most people who watched it would have agreed. Even though the halftime show wasn’t that bad, I think the performance Patrick Mahomes had was bad and the only player to do something for the Chiefs was Xavier Worthy.
Aidan Bennett, senior, said, “It was really boring, but the best highlight of it was seeing Patrick Mahomes lose, possibly one of the worst Super Bowls ever.”
Zach Caleca, a senior, said, “This is probably one of the worst Super Bowl games I’ve ever watched. I almost fell asleep watching it.”
Also, Caleca stated, “I can’t believe Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs really did that bad; I feel like their whole team was off. It was kind of embarrassing getting blown out like that in a game that everyone was excited to watch.”
Caleca and Bennet both are disappointed and cannot believe that the Super Bowl went that terribly against the Chiefs and Eagles, who wouldn’t blame them for feeling that way. The way the Chiefs’ Defense got exposed and their offensive line couldn’t even hold up for Patrick Mahomes was embarrassing.
Steven Likins, a senior, said, “I liked the Super Bowl overall only because I liked watching Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs lose for once, and seeing the Eagles destroy them was great. But, overall, I think the Super Bowl was still pretty boring and disappointing with the battle the Chiefs gave.”
The only people that seem to enjoy it obviously are the Eagles Fans. What’s better than seeing your team just absolutely destroying Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs?
Overall, the Super Bowl, in my opinion, and in many other people’s opinions, was one of the worst Super Bowl games in recent history. I was very disappointed with how the game went and the performance the Chiefs had.
