The students of Lake Shore High School share their feelings about campus monitor Leslie Houston.
Leslie started working here at Lake Shore in 1994, saying “I’ve worked here since 1994, almost 30 years, plus I went here.”
Leslie graduated from Lake Shore in 1977. Making her love and dedication to the school she once attended even stronger.
Leslie goes on to share her feelings about the students and her job saying, “ I love working here because you guys make me happy and it’s always nice to see different people, and how different generations are.”
Leslie also goes on to share how much she cares about the safety and well-being of the students here stating, “That’s probably my biggest worry is if they have a hybrid or they go to lunch or whatever, just making sure, you know, they’ll come back safely.”
The students of Lake Shore share similar feelings about Leslie,“I love Miss Leslie. She’s the kindest and sweetest and hardest working woman ever. I love her.” Says senior Sophia Garman.
“I think she’s a very kind woman. She is a kind soul, she gets along with everyone. She’s just a very wonderful woman.” Says Junior Amaria Goodwin.
“ I think that she is very nice and laid back. She’s definitely someone I feel I could talk to about anything.” Says senior Haleigh Fountain.
Leslie has made a big impact on many of our students here everyday, even with a simple good morning when walking in.
Amaria Goodwin states, “I think Leslie has a wonderful impact at the school, and, you know, a lot of students have told me they wouldn’t even be here without her.”
Leslie is also very well respected by faculty and students, but while keeping a positive attitude day to day, there are also many stressors of her job.
“Of course, Mrs. Leslie does her job very well, she has a hectic schedule all the time every time I see her, she’s moving, and always on the go, but she gets it done. she’s definitely dedicated”,says Amaria Goodwin.
Leslie works with a smile on her face to light up your day and always makes sure you are given a positive impression, no matter the day or week she’s had.
In short, Leslie Houston means more to Lake Shore than just being our campus monitor; she has stayed a beloved member of the overall school community and kept her love for the school for generations to come.
