Mia Hawk is a freshman at Lake Shore High School. Hawk is well known for her bright personality and outgoing ways. This is Mia Hawk’s take on the impending end of this school year and all things Lake Shore.
“I’m excited for school to end and summer to start, but sad I won’t be able to see my friends every day. Now, I’ll actually have to ask them to hang out and make plans,” Hawk said.
Hawk expressed feeling both sad and happy about the end of school. “I can’t wait to throw epic pool parties with my friends.”
Hawk said, “I am also excited for my eighth-grade friends to come to the high school next year.”
Hawk also gave a rundown on how her first year in high school went. “Overall, it’s been a pretty good year, and there have been some highs, some lows, some wins, and some losses, but overall I’ve grown this year and hope to grow and achieve more next year.”
“For next year, I think things will be easier, and since it’s our second year in high school, we will be more used to things. They should also add some vending machines because that would be really great.”
Hawk mentioned a few favorites from this year. “My favorite memory was making new friends and being a part of so many cool programs.”
“One of my favorite classes this year was probably… Fusion, which is, like, the dancing choir class, because it’s just, like, different, and there are these different types of people that are in there, it’s, like, you don’t really see them everywhere. You know?” said Hawk.
Hawk also shared a few shoutouts to some teachers who are special to her. Hawk said, “I would like to shout out Mrs. Elkins, Ms. Honald, and Mrs. Wu, they are my all-time favorite teachers. I just love them, and I feel like I actually learn in their classes, so…”
Hawk then said, “I just love that they’re so nice and welcoming to everyone.”
Lastly, Hawk said, “I believe next year holds a lot of success and new opportunities. I’ll go into next year with an open heart and an open mindset. I had a great first year, and next year I think will be either better or somewhat equal to this year.”
