New Year’s resolutions are a great way to start the new year as the calendar flips to 2025. We all hope to do better than we did last year. New year’s resolutions are often very productive and positive.
Vincent Blakely, freshman, said his new year’s resolution is “to get all A’s and B’s on his report card.” Blakey’s plans to achevice this is by staying in school and being on time to all of his classes. He said he needs to stay away from bad behavior and negative friends.
Blakely’s new year’s resolution is a great way to show that he wants to do better in the new year. Being on time to his classes can help him to know what is going on and get the assignments done.
Victoria Deppner is a freshman. Her new year’s resolution is to be a better person. Deppner says “I feel like I want to be more kind and respectful” to achieve this goal Deppner won’t let people irritate her so easily. She plans to stay away from people who purposely aggravate her because they think it’s funny. Deppners resolution is a great way to have a better year, make more happy memories with her friends and overall be a better person.
Jeff Valken, a hall monitor at Lake Shore High School, plans to “be more patient and eat better and be healthier.” Valken plans to achieve these goals by controlling his patience. For the patience part he plans to stay away from negativity. People who have negative mindsets can ruin the atmosphere and the way other people think. It is always better to stick with someone who has a good mindset.
Valken continues, “As far as eating healthier, making better options, and eating smaller portions of food”. He plans to stay away from bad food like snacks “instead of eating chips instead eat grapes” and to stop eating late at night.
For the patience part stay away from negativity. Valken new years resolution is very productive and thought out. Eating healthier can do some much for your body and can keep you in well shape. Patience is something that a lot of people struggle with and it’s always good to try to better yourself mentally.
Treyshawn Rogers-Conley, freshman, wants to “be a better man and grow closer to God” in the new year. Rogers wants to do this by reading the bible and to follow the words and ways and live a better life. He wants to stay away from things that make him sin as in lust, gossip, and greed.
Roger-Conley shows that he wants to grow in his spirituality and find a way to improve his life with God. He wants to be a better man this year and has more goals to be better.
Braylon Hempstead’s New Year’s Resolution is to “keep up with his academics, be a better student athlete and be an overall better person”. He plans to achieve this goal by using “time management and prioritizing what he needs to do and to put fun things aside”. He wants to stay away from people who bring him down and self discipline.
Hempstead shows that he wants to improve his grades and improve his grades so he can be a better student athlete. He seems as if he wants to grow in his maturity.
Lake Shore’s students and staff have a great way to start the New Year’s and have amazing goals that could have great outcomes.
