Everyone knows Tami Blaszkowski as the media productions teacher that is beloved at Lake Shore High School, but behind her job as a teacher here, she also runs a business called Jazzercise.
Jazzercise helps introduce people to a feel good workout, with high-energy dance fitness. The place provides many other workouts, that goes with energetic music that helps keeping you involved in the program.
Blaszkowski says, “Jazzercise is a dance fitness workout and the original dance fitness workout that started in 1969. Classes have exercise moves choreographed to music and taught by certified instructors in locations that foster a community. Jazzercise is the dance fitness movement that has a goal of introducing people to a workout program that makes you feel good and helps you stick to a program for life.”
Jazzercise lists their pillars of there business being motivate, cultivate, innovate and give back. Jazzercise gives back to the community around the world by sponsoring “The Great Kindness Challenge” hosted by Kids For Peace, impacting over 20 million students worldwide.
In Jazzercise, The Jazzercise class follow an instructor who takes them through many workouts and cardio dances. The class has daily workout routines, that go along with music, and always has interactive music that makes people in the class keep moving and working out to their goal.
Jazzercise has many types of workouts such as, Walking fitness, kickboxing, yoga, cardio, and many more.
Blaszkowski says, “ There are centers and satellites all around the world that offer classes to customers. During class a certified instructor leads the class through cardio dance routines as well as sculpting routines using hand held weights, exercise balls, mini bands, and mats to build muscle. Classes run in length from 30 minutes to one hour depending on the format for that class time. “
During the classes in Jazzercise, you connect to not only do great workouts for your body, but your introduced to an amazing community you engage with in the class. They cultivate a community alongside you through every season of life. Creating a family that you will love in Jazzercise.
Blaszkowski says, “ I LOVE music of all kinds and dancing. I also like to keep moving. When I was growing up I used to dance. I danced jazz, tap, pointe, ballet all the way until I was 21. Once I graduated from college, I had to find something to keep moving. I ended up taking exercise classes of all different types: kickboxing, walk fitness, running, going to the gym. I then got into Zumba which is also a type of dance fitness cardio done to music. Around that time a friend invited me to a Jazzercise class. I went and fell in love.”
Using the same skills she has for being a successful teacher, Blaszkowski became an instructor for Jazzercise classes.
“I am quickly coming up on being an instructor for 10 years. I love teaching classes and having fun with my customers. Seeing them smile and laugh and challenge themselves to be their healthiest, happiest selves.”
Now, Blaszkowski is not only an instructor but an owner as well.
She explains, “In 2022 I purchased Jazzercise Fraser from the owner who I taught for who was retiring.”
Blaszkowski is not only an impactful for at Lake Shore High School, but also to her many clients at Jazzercise Fraser.
