Its time for another edition of the Tyson Taylor’s Take series. This time Tyson is taking on the new year.

“It’s literally just another random day, I can’t even tell it’s 2026 yet.” Taylor said. “Nothing significant has happened.”

Usually Taylor has more positive takes on his topics. This time it’s different, he is very vocal on how he feels.

You might have heard the saying “New Year, new me.” People describe the New Year as a way for them to be different. Taylor has his own take on that saying.

“New year new me is stupid because you aren’t going to change that much in a day.” Taylor said.

Taylor’s previous year was focused more on wrestling. Taylor wants to change his take on that.

“Last year I saw success as more of winning in wrestling rather than taking in the smaller wins like grades and such.” Taylor said.

Taylor wants to improve his academics this year as well.

“Missing assignments are not coming into 2026. I have to lock in and stop messing around.”

Taylor’s take on the new year is different than most. Although, Taylor disagrees with the sayings and how much different the new year can be, Taylor still has plans for what is to come this year.
