Christmas break is a magical time for families and friends to celebrate the festive season. With Christmas break right around the corner, the students and staff at Lake Shore High School are all thinking about their plans for the holiday and break.
Plans for Christmas can always vary. Some travel and some may stay home and enjoy their time off.
Justin Winters, a teacher here at Lake Shore, says “I am going to Disney over Christmas break with my family.”
On the other hand, Nate Deel-Smith, a freshman, says “I’m going to chill with my family, and go out somewhere and eat.” He believes that relaxing is the best way to spend a break.
Spending time with family is one of the key parts of the holidays. Spending time with your mom, grandparents, kids, or significant other can create some of the best memories.
American History teacher, Chris Hubbard states, “I am going to enjoy my break without being here, and spending time with my family.”
Another key aspect of a holiday break is having fun. Junior, Ella Smith, states, “I plan on going sledding and all that fun stuff, I want to build a snowman.” She loves having fun and is looking forward to her sledding fun over Christmas break.
Although there are a lot of people who are looking forward to Christmas, there are also some who do not celebrate Christmas.
Senior, Adrian Mckinney, states, “Nothing, I don’t celebrate Christmas. Not for religion but for family.” He may use this break to relax or pursue hobbies and interests. The holidays are a great time for respecting and valuing each other’s unique ways of celebrating or not celebrating.
Going on Christmas break is a cherished time for relaxation, family bonding, and creating fun, lasting memories. It offers us time to recharge from school and stress. It provides an opportunity to experience the joy and warmth of the holiday season. Have a great break and Happy New Year Shorians!
