Stranger Things, a beloved show by many at Lake Shore High School returns for a new season after 3 years. It is the 5th season of Stranger Things, and plans to bring the thrilling series to a close.
The show was originally released on July 15, 2016, and is a Netflix series. It follows the story of multiple protagonists as they navigate through multiple plot lines, including themes like parallel dimensions, mysteries, and government experimentation.
In the previous season of Stranger Things (Season 4), Vecna was thought to be defeated. However, in the new season, this is not the case.
Vecna had survived and was healing. The protagonists catch wind of this when a character’s sister goes missing. They head to the Upside Down in search of her. In the Upside Down, they find a scientist who planned to recreate the experiment that gave Eleven her powers.
Later in the story, they discover that the character Max was trapped in Vecna’s mind and was helping the taken children escape. When the sister finally managed to escape, she was brought back to Vecna’s lair. Max had woken up from her coma at this point and knew how to get to the lair. The protagonists head to Vecna’s lair and defeat him to free the children.
Once Vecna is defeated, they navigate the Upside Down and are caught by scientists from earlier. Eleven sacrifices herself to free everyone else. In the end, the main characters return the children home safely and graduate from high school.
For the last season, I feel that the ending wrapped up the story nicely. The villain is defeated, and the protagonists finally graduate high school.
The final season definitely succeeded in creating memorable moments with Eleven’s sacrifice, the defeat of Vecna, and the graduation of the main characters.
It was an entertaining watch and a satisfying end with emotional depth. It did nicely to conclude one of the most loved shows of all time.
