Lake Shore High School is getting ready to roll out the red carpet for this year’s Homecoming, with the theme A Night in Hollywood. Students can expect plenty of fun events leading up to the big weekend, which includes the Homecoming game on Friday, October 17, and the dance on Saturday, October 18.
Ashley Geib, Senior Class President, shared her favorite Homecoming tradition: decorating the hallways. She said, “My favorite Homecoming tradition is definitely hallway decorating. It’s such a fun and relaxed way to kick off Homecoming week and to enjoy decorating with my classmates.”
Hallway decorating is set for Sunday, October 12. Each class will transform its designated hallway to fit the Hollywood theme, making the school come alive with decoration and excitement in the days before the celebration.

To keep the energy high, Spirit Week gives students a chance to dress up and show their Shorian pride. This year’s schedule includes:
- Monday: Pink Out Day
- Tuesday: Jersey vs. Jersey Shore Day
- Wednesday: Party in the USA Day
- Thursday: Men in Black Day
- Friday: Lake Shore Shorian Pride Day
Geib also shared her advice for Homecoming week. “My advice would definitely be to participate in everything, hall decorating, float building, going to the dance, EVERYTHING. Memories from this week are some of my favorites, so truly cherish it all and participate as much as possible!”

Before the big game on October 17, the annual Homecoming parade will take place, featuring 11 floats: one built by each elementary school, one from Kennedy Middle School, one from North Lake High School and one for each grade, 9-12, from Lake Shore High School. Also, the Lake Shore Choir and Cheer Team will each work on and submit floats. It is always the highlight of the week, as students get to showcase their creativity and school spirit for the community. After the parade, the football team will take the field for the annual Homecoming game, and the Shorian community is invited to come out and cheer.
The weekend will end with the Homecoming dance on October 18, where students will step into a Hollywood-style evening full of music, decorations, and fun. Tickets for the dance will be $20 a person and will include entry to the dance, a key chain, a glow stick, and one item from the concession stand. This year’s Homecoming promises to be one to remember, so get ready to dress up, show your Shorian pride, and enjoy A Night in Hollywood.
