Fortnite has been out since 2017, and the game is still popular in 2025, but people wonder if there are still a lot of people playing it or if it’s “dead.”

Ever since elementary school, Fortnite has been known for being the new big game. Back then, it was most people’s favorite game; even now, as upperclassmen, many people still give Fortnite that title, but not everybody agrees.

When asked about the new season, many people said that it was “alright,” showing that people liked the game, but something was off.

When pressed further, most people stated that the graphics of the new season are what throw them off. Battle Royale (base game mode) took a different route compared to the other ones in the game. To distance itself from the classic graphics, Epic Games made its game look all cartoony. Most people who were interviewed said that they liked the game and the different modes, but didn’t like the cartoon graphics that they added this season.

Fortnite’s new season also includes “The Simpsons.” When interviewed about how they feel about the Simpsons and the crossover, all ten interviewees said that they liked the Simpsons season and that the creators did a good job incorporating them into the game.

We talked to Juinior, Prince Pitt, and he talked about how Fortnite didn’t feel authentic. “Fortnite just isn’t the same anymore.’’ Pitt also stated that “it feels like a cash grab now, seeing how the Simpsons have nothing to do with a shooting RPG.”

We also got some opinions on the new loot that came with this season. Some thought it was cool, and others thought the weapons were useless. For example, Fortnite added a new chainsaw and gauntlets. Brandon Weems, Junior, said, “The gauntlets are fun and do good damage, and I like to troll with them.”
