Lake Shore students are getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday, whether it be traveling or staying home and making their favorite foods.
Several Lake Shore students shared what their plans were for Thanksgiving.
Chloe Jennings, sophomore, said, “I plan to stay at home and have a party with several of my friends and get full on food.”
Some other students commented on their favorite foods being a big part of their Thanksgiving celebration. Giana Houston said, “My favorite Thanksgiving foods are mac and cheese, and I also really like candied yams.”
A’vaya Valentine said, “I love mac and cheese and yams, and some good turkey.”
Friendsgiving has become very popular with Lake Shore students. Kari Wu, Lake Shore teacher, said, “My sons have celebrated Friendsgiving with their friends in the past, and it was a great way for them not only to spend time with their friends, but also to learn how to cook the food they needed to bring.”
For Thanksgiving Day, some people are traveling, but many are staying local. “We always go across the state to spend Thanksgiving with family,” said Wu.
Madison Payton, junior, said, “I’m staying home, I’m not going out anywhere.”
Junior Kara Lawfield said, “This Thanksgiving I’m going to my aunt’s house for dinner.’’
It’s nice to see that Lake Shore students are celebrating the holiday, even if it is just staying home and eating food; it keeps the Thanksgiving spirit alive.
