Prom has been talked about for generations, and it happens every year for the seniors at Lake Shore High School. Preparing for prom can be chaotic, as your mind can be filled with fear and hesitation: picking your color, feeling nervous or scared that you won’t have fun and even worrying about having a date.

The ticket price for prom this year was $75 and they were sold for a week. Some senior students had things to say about this since the 2026 class is on the smaller side. Patrick Farley said, “The prom ticket prices are very expensive, knowing that we have a small class compared to other schools that have the same price as us but double the people.”

For the girls this is a very exciting and fun thing to get ready for. Some girls get ready with a group of friends, do each other’s hair, makeup or help with their dresses. Carly Best said, “I think prom will be fun and I’m excited to get ready and dress up for it.” Best is also taking a party bus with her friends to prom. This shows her excitement for one of the last memories she’ll have as a senior.

There is always a theme to prom, and this year’s theme is “A night in Greece.” Rihanna Reed said, ”I think prom will be fun since it’s a dance with just our class, and I’m very excited the theme is amazing.” Reed is wearing a dark green dress with gold details.

The seniors this year are all very excited for prom. This is one last event for them to all be together and have fun.
