For many years, gym class has been going to the bowling alley once a week. This provides students with a different environment and an opportunity to leave the school for an hour.
Many students enjoy this and enjoy getting out of the classroom for an hour, especially when they can spend time bowling with their friends.
However, bowling does cost $3 per student, which some students think is reasonable. Santiago Escavor says, “Seems reasonable, especially for a class. It would be a waste of resources for bowling because they need to generate revenue in some way.”
Some people think it makes sense and that the bowling alley has to make money somehow, but others believe it shouldn’t affect their grade if they forgot money.
Jacob Bartolomeo, senior, says, “I’m wealthy, it doesn’t affect me, but I think it should be free for everyone.” Although the cost doesn’t bother him personally, he thinks it’s unfair to make students pay for something mandatory.
Some students also think it’s too much. Robin Menlyk, senior, says, “It might be too much, and I would rather not pay $3.” Corbin Marentette, senior, added, “It’s a fair price for being able to go over there and bowl.”
Gym teacher, James Rohm, stated, “It’s a place of business, and it’s only right to at least pay, we also got a huge discount. The school doesn’t have its own bowling place, so it’s only right to pay money to Lake Shore Lanes.
