Every year, people make New Year’s resolutions, but the goals they choose slowly change as time goes by. New Year’s resolutions are very important because it’s a goal to better yourself and improve the ongoing progress of growing and learning as the years go by. Here are a few New Year’s resolutions from our lovely staff and students at Lake Shore High School:
Senior Aubrey Allison said, “My New Year’s resolution is to probably eat healthier.”
Allison’s resolution is a very common resolution, but also a very important one. It’s good to set goals that will not just better yourself physically but also improve your mental state like eating cleaner and getting in shape.
“My New Year’s resolution is to get a new place because I want to upgrade and also make my kids happier by giving them more room and space to play and have their fun,” said Lake Shore staff, Amber James. James’s resolution was quite touching, it’s a very generous goal to have by wanting to not just make herself happier but also her children.
Detective Hartman said, “My New Year’s resolution is to go on more dates with my wife.”
New Year’s resolutions aren’t always just individual goals, they can also be about strengthening relationships and building bonds stronger than before.
Senior Carly Best said, “I want to cut out energy drinks.” New Year’s resolutions are a good method for cutting off bad habits and getting out of repetitive cycles that seem impossible to do.
And our last New Year’s resolution is from our junior wrestler, Tyson Taylor. “I’d say my New Year’s resolution would be to get better grades,” said Taylor. Taylor’s resolution is a very beneficial goal especially for him and his hobbies. Pushing to succeed educationally will even uplift his drive to progress in sports.
Making New Year’s resolutions gives people a fresh start. Lake Shore staff and students shared resolutions that focus on learning, personal growth and breaking repetitive habits. Even small changes can make a big difference over time.
