As the golf season approaches, there are high expectations for the season. Let’s dive into this upcoming golf season.
Ethan Bates, senior. Ethan Bates says his biggest goal for the season is to “break 80.”
After high school, Bates plans to “not play on a league or team but for fun with friends.”
Bates’s favorite part about being on the team is “playing with his boys and having fun.”
The best score Bates has ever gotten is an 80 on an 18-hole course.
The teammate that pushes Bates the most would be “my boy, Will, he taught me everything I know.”
William Young, senior. Who is the captain of the Lake Shore Golf Team. Young’s goals for the season are “to place top 15 at regionals.”
After high school, Young says, “I plan to play club at Wayne State and enjoy it in my free time with my buddies.”
Young’s favorite thing about the team “is the practices by far.”
The best score Young ever shot was a 39 on a nine-hole course and a 79 on an 18-hole course.
Senior Charles Maniaci’s ultimate goal for the season is “having as much fun as I can, and enjoying my last year of golf.”
Maniaci is “still going to be playing a ton of golf, especially when I’m older and with my buddies.”
Maniaci’s favorite thing about being on the golf team is the free golf and the amazing coaches. The best score Maniaci has ever gotten was a 38 on a 9-hole course. The teammate who pushes him the most is William Young, because they are so close in skill and are always trying to outdo each other.
As the golf season is approaching, we wish our fellow Shorian golfers the best of luck on their upcoming season and hope they can reach all of their goals.
