The Lake Shore music department has multiple exciting performances coming up. Here’s all the information you need to know to come out and support your fellow Shorians!
Lake Shore’s choirs will be performing their yearly spring concert on Thursday, May 7, at 7:00 P.M. Concert choir will be singing the songs “From the start” and “Pure imagination,” while fusion will be dancing to and singing to songs from the hit musical, Moulin Rouge!, “Rolling in the Deep,” “Come What May,” and “Shut up and dance.”
In addition to these performances, there will be senior solos throughout the concert as well as a preview of a song from the upcoming musical, Frozen, and awards for seniors after everything. If you would like to attend this concert, there is an entry fee of $5 cash at the door, and it is located in the Lake Shore auditorium.
Returning for their second show this school year, the Lake Shore Musical Group has been working hard since February to put on Frozen this May. This musical features songs you know and love from the hit 2013 movie, like “Let it Go” and also new songs written just for the stage version, like “Dangerous to Dream.”
Frozen is double-casted, meaning two actors play each character (snow cast and ice cast). They will be performing eight shows in total, two of those being one hour sing-along specials with character meet and greets after, perfect for little ones! Purchase your tickets online before it’s too late!
See the bottom of the article for Frozen show dates, cast information, ticket prices, and the link to purchase tickets.
Finally, the Lake Shore Bands will be putting on their annual Shorian Spectacular on May 20, 5:30-8:30 PM at Veterans Memorial Park. This will feature songs like “Arabesque” by Sam Hazo played by the LSHS Wind Ensemble, and “Choose Joy” by Randall Standridge played by the LSHS symphonic band, as well as many other groovy tunes. Not only will the Lake Shore High School bands play at this concert, but also the Kennedy Middle School bands.
In addition to the music, there will be food trucks on site as well as raffle baskets to support the Lake Shore Bands. Admission is free, and donations are accepted at the gate. Come out to enjoy some catchy music, get some delicious food, and most importantly, support the Lake Shore band programs!
