Alice in Chains is a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band from the Seattle Grunge scene, first forming in 1987. They released their debut album, Facelift, on August 21st, 1990. The album is considered the first break-out success from the Grunge scene, as it was certified Gold after selling 500,000 copies on September 11th, 1991.
