With winter break right around the corner, Lake Shore students are already looking forward to having two weeks off and are thinking about how they will spend their time away from school. Some people are planning trips, hanging out with family and friends, and others are just looking forward to having time off from school. Since winter break starts after this week, we went around the halls to interview students about their plans.
Senior Jacob Bartolomeo said, “I’m excited for not having to go to school, and just having that time off. I’m looking forward to being with family and friends as well.”
Bartolomeo, and several others all agreed to looking forward to not having school.
He added, “My favorite part about Christmas break is having my own time, going places, and not having to worry about waking up for school early.”
On Christmas Day, he plans to “see family, exchange gifts, and chill and just hang out.” And for gifts, he said, “I just want necessities like shampoo, nothing too big.”
Bartolomeo is keeping his plans for winter break very small, but he is still excited nonetheless.
Senior Ironslyn Farley is excited to get gifts this Christmas. “Over break I am going to San Francisco because I begged my mom to go. My favorite part about Christmas break is being with family,” she said.
Farley is excited to be with her family on Christmas day, and she asked her family for a Gucci bag.
Chloe Doyle, senior, has some other plans for Christmas Break. “I am dog sitting for a family that I dog sit for all the time. I am planning on getting their dogs gifts for Christmas and I am super excited,” she said.
Another student, sophomore Victoria Deppner, is actually not looking forward to Christmas break. “I’m not excited because I don’t have a car so I am going to be stuck at home.”
However, she still has some exciting plans.
“I am planning on going to my uncle’s house for New Years, and I am so ready to party and sleep in,” Deppner said.
Christmas Break is exciting for some, and boring for others. But in the end, most students are very excited to hangout with family and sleep in over break.
